Some flowers are for picking, others are not

One of the things that I have really been looking forward to about coming back to Russia is the ice slides.  But it's not Winter at the moment.

But there are some good things about Summer time.  One of them is that there are flowers.  There is a forest near our house, and there are lots of flowers there.  I just love flowers.

But you are now allowed to pick the flowers in this forest.  Mummy and Daddy tried to a couple of years ago and some Babushkas yelled at them and told them off.  Daddy thinks that it is because, that if everyone picked the flowers then there would be none left for anyone to enjoy.  I think it's because if everyone picked the flowers, then there would be no bees to make honey.

We left the forest and came back to the street.  There were lots of flowers by the side of the road.

And guess what?  I was allowed to pick those ones!  Mummy says that dandelions are really great flowers, because they are pretty and you are also allowed to pick them.  :)

I'm not picking it, I'm just pretending.

I wanted Daddy to take a photo, cos I like the purple thing I'm standing next to.

Isn't it pretty?  They had a pink one too. Both of my favourite colours, although I like purple more.

Later I got to play in the sand pit.

Ah, that looks like fun Abigail. I love spring flowers, and Russia does spring so well! I miss the flowers at the moment because it is winter here and the flowers aren't peeking out yet. But I dare say it won't be long, because you know we don't get any snow here. (Not sure whether that's a good or bad thing. Maybe just a LITTLE snow would be nice...)

Flowers are so beautiful and you are having fun picking them.I remember when you picked dandelions and other flowers in Australia. IT is winter now but we have lovely Azalias flowering in our garden. Some of the colours are red, white, pink and purple.
